The testing is currently affecting a quarter of Yahoo’s search traffic and, while not site-wide, Microsoft is warning on its blog that webmasters should be diligent in making sure that their sites are showing up in search results correctly, lest they be left behind. To that end, Microsoft is releasing a completely redesigned version of its Bing Webmaster Tools.Microsoft is warning webmasters that, just because their site showed up as they wanted on Yahoo search does not mean it will be the same for Yahoo search when it is powered by Bing and there are a few steps they should take:During this testing phase, it’s important to look at how your site is showing up in search results on Yahoo! and Bing today, so you can assess if there are any tweaks you need to make or feedback you need to share with the team to make sure your site is accurately represented in Bing’s results. In particular, now is a good time for you to review your crawl policies in your robots.txt and ensure that you have identical polices for the msnbot/Bingbot and Yahoo’s bots. Just to note, you should not see an increase in bingbot traffic as a result of the transition. The updated webmaster tools give webmasters control over three areas: crawl, index and traffic. Through the use of these tools, webmasters can control how and where their website shows up in Bing search results, as well as look at traffic on the search engine. Here’s Microsoft’s explanation: Index Explorer gives you unprecedented access to browse through the Bing index in order to verify which of your directories and pages have been included. Submit URLs gives you the ability to signal which URLs Bing should add to the index. Other new features include: Crawl Issues to view details on redirects, malware, and exclusions encountered while crawling sites; and Block URLs to prevent specific URLs from appearing in Bing search engine results pages. In addition, the new tools take advantage of Microsoft Silverlight 4 to deliver rich charting functionality that will help you quickly analyze up to six months of crawling, indexing, and traffic data. When we looked at this partnership a year ago, we posited that it could create some competition for Google. In the last year, Google has lost little ground in the search marketplace, but Yahoo and Bing both hold the number two and three spots in search engine popularity worldwide. We’ll see if Bing-powered search results do anything to change the status quo. In the meantime, webmasters would be wise to heed Microsoft’s advice and monitor their site in the search results. It’s definitely not something we’re focused on.” The Warriors, who won 113-91 and 132-113 at home over the Cavaliers, swept Portland, Utah and San Antonio to reach the finals. They surpassed the 13-win streaks of the 1980s Los Angeles Lakers and the 2016-17 Cleveland Cavaliers to set the record, although “Showtime” Lakers star Magic Johnson claimed Monday his squad would have swept the Warriors in a series.Hearing that, Warriors forward Draymond Green began a long period of laughter before saying, “That’s my thoughts.”The best record for any champion in NBA playoff history belongs to the 2001 Los Angeles Lakers, who went 15-1 to claim the crown, their only loss in the opening game of the finals.‘A huge hurdle’ADVERTISEMENT BREAKING: Cop killed, 11 hurt in Misamis Oriental grenade blast Sports Related Videospowered by AdSparcRead Next Cayetano dares Lacson, Drilon to take lie-detector test: Wala akong kinita sa SEA Games The Warriors know history can be bittersweet. “If he is not (delivering), we will have to look at alternatives.” These chilling words by chief selector MSK Prasad were used for MS Dhoni.Who would have ever imagined a day would come when they would put out an ultimatum for one of India’s most adored cricketers? India’s five one-dayers against Sri Lanka assume great significance for a few of the younger men in the squad but none more so than for Dhoni. At 36, Dhoni is still India’s first choice wicketkeeper in the shorter formats. For a decade since his dramatic international arrival, he had carried the mantle of ‘keeper, finisher, captain, strategist with panache.Reuters PhotoBut somewhere down the line, the heavy workload began to take its toll, even on his well-built frame. Dhoni, though, battled on – broken fingers, a bad back and the pressure of intense expectations from his cricket-crazed countrymen.Along the way, Dhoni played some of the most iconic innings of the modern era, led India to the top of the Test rankings and brought home three ICC titles. But like everything else in life, all good things in cricket must also come to an end.It was @imVkohli vs @msdhoni vs @klrahul11 at the football today. #SLvIND pic.twitter.com/mEc6iWiES7- BCCI (@BCCI) 18 August 2017Dhoni’s storied career is nearing an end – the horizon is somewhere close. He has set himself up for the 2019 World Cup and Virat Kohli would love to have his former skipper in his squad when India travel to England in less than two years. But will it be that easy?advertisementPrasad’s assertion that nobody was guaranteed of a place in this Indian side must put enormous pressure on Dhoni. He is no stranger to expectations or the high demands of international cricket but the scrutiny could still be telling. Besides, coach Ravi Shastri is adamant only the fittest would survive in this team.Yuvraj Singh was dropped (rested if you go by the chief selector’s press conference) while Suresh Raina continued to get the cold shoulder. In their stead, fitter, faster and more agile youngsters have forced their way back in. Manish Pandey is about as fit as Kohli and Ravindra Jadeja while the likes of KL Rahul, Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan have come back stronger from their injuries. The team management takes the issue of fitness very seriously but that is hardly a concern for Dhoni, who is in good shape. His wicket-keeping is still poetry in motion and his understanding of the DRS is clearer than anybody else in the Indian team. The problem is with Dhoni’s batting – he is no more the same finisher and his firepower is now on the wane.Reuters PhotoDhoni retired from Test cricket at the end of 2014 to focus on limited-overs cricket but he has since managed 1304 runs in 46 ODIs including eight fifties and a hundred.Earlier this year, Dhoni also stepped down as India captain in the shorter formats, thus further compromising his position in the side. Kohli made no bones about the fact that he needed Dhoni in his side, that he wanted his experience and skills but even he would begin to feel a little edgy given Dhoni’s run of form with the bat.Since relinquishing captaincy, Dhoni has scored 386 runs from 13 ODIs at 64.3 but the phase also includes the second slowest fifty by an Indian. The highlight, of course, was that sizzling 134 against England in January – his first hundred since 2013.There are other options available. Dinesh Karthik was impressive in the two opportunities he got in the West Indies while Rishabh Pant, despite a disappointing India A tour, continues to be in the radar.Dhoni arrived in Dambulla with the rest of his teammates, looking fit and dapper. He trained hard at the National Cricket Academy and looks set to put himself through the grind. Not for the first time, the spotlight would be on Dhoni, albeit for very different reasons.
